Welcome!

Thanks for checking out my website!

In February of this year, I released my first full length book of poetry, Expansions, on Jamii Press. Here are some photos from the three book release shows: February 10th at Pain Sugar Gallery in downtown Riverside, February 16th at Cellar Door Books in Riverside, and February 17th at The Poetic Research Bureau in Chinatown, LA.

The last few months have been busy and exciting. After the release of Expansions, I was honored to perform with so many friends (old and new), celebrating the beautiful community we create together.

Recently, I finished facilitating workshops for a project called Voices Against Violence, which is put on by the Inlandia Institute and made possible with the Cal Humanities Grant. The project is focused on how we can eradicate violence in our communities through art. I was one of four workshop presenters, and my workshops focused on how trauma is stored in the body and how we can release it through dance and poetry. These workshops were taught in collaboration with two very talented dancers, Aisha Shauntel and Stephen Tanner, and I’m excited to say that both workshops were a huge success. Thank you to everyone who attended and participated in creating such beautiful spaces. Check out the vlog Alchemii Visuals created covering the event:

In the next few months, I’ll be preparing to leave the United States and move to Japan to work as an English teacher. I don’t have much information yet, but I will be posting as soon as I can.

Thanks for reading.

Love.
